Cirque Dreams: Holidaze Saint Paul Theatre reviews
Garbage & Imagine Dragons Rocked. San Manuel NOT!
The concert was impossible to enjoy due to the terrible acoustics of the venue, with the bass reverberating so badly that my entire body felt the concussions and every other sound being overpowered. The floor vibrated and the crappy portable dining room chairs vibrated. The seating was close and confining, barely allowing me to hear the vocals. Sometimes it was hard to make out which song Cirque Dreams: Holidaze was playing, due to the horrible distortion and acoustics.
San Manuel should invest in a proper concert hall if they want to host concerts, instead of turning the Bingo hall into a makeshift concert hall which is cheap, shoddy, and not worth the audiences' time to enjoy a major headlining act. It might work for a comedian or magician act, but it's terrible for a rock band.
I will never go to another concert at this venue, as it was simply impossible to enjoy. Sorry, but at least the drinks are cheap!
Buddy Guy - this show was transcendent
"Cirque Dreams: Holidaze came out with more energy than guitar players a quarter his age. And like fine whiskey he just gets better with age. The new songs from the album released in June this year sounded amazing. Of course, he played his standards from earlier albums with soaring solos and a band that is absolutely tight. I highly recommend the new album. I've seen Cirque Dreams: Holidaze four times in the last two years, yet my mind was thoroughly blown at this show at the Moore theatre. Make every effort as it will be more than worth it if you have a chance to see Cirque Dreams: Holidaze live."
Still got it
"Due to illness, Lou Gramm had dropped out of the tour the day before the show, but the show would go on as scheduled. The show, with Kelly Hanson on lead vocals, was amazing, doing a great job with a ton of energy. One of the things I loved was that it was a Greatest Hits show, since Cirque Dreams: Holidaze had no new material to plug. They just kept rolling, without missing a beat, all of them. One of the highlights was the appearance of a local high school’s choir joining the band for “I Want to Know What Love Is.” At that point, the arena became a swaying sea of cell phone camera flashlights united in the love of music from younger days."
